COBIS executive joins the Development Council
Copenhagen Science City has all the right components to become one of the world’s leading knowledge centres, says Morten Mølgaard Jensen of COBIS, who is now joining the Development Council.
“Copenhagen Science City has all the right components – now we just have to get them to work together optimally,” says Morten Mølgaard Jensen, the newest member of the Development Council of Copenhagen Science City.
He is the CEO of Copenhagen Bio Science Park (COBIS), located in the heart of Copenhagen Science City and home to one of the largest concentrations of biotechnology and medical companies in Denmark.
As part of the Development Council, Morten Mølgaard Jensen will play a key role in shaping the future of Copenhagen Science City in collaboration with the council’s other members, including Thomas Bjørnholm, prorector at the University of Copenhagen.
Copenhagen Science City is perfectly in line with an increasingly prevalent megatrend in the most successful regions of the world: the fusion of academia, business, research and capital. The ability to create a successful ecosystem that comprises world-class research and teaching, a good framework for start-ups and growth opportunities for the most promising businesses will be all-important in the future.

Ready to move full speed ahead
In addition to his work at COBIS, Morten Mølgaard Jensen is actively involved in the world of biotechnology and medical science. He is the former COO of Symbion Science Park and co-founder of four different business development centres in the fields of life science, IT and creative technologies. He is also a member of IdeRiget’s Innovation Board and Medicon Valley Alliance’s Network and Knowledge Committee.
Now Morten Mølgaard Jensen can add “member of Copenhagen Science City’s Development Council” to his CV, and he’s looking forward to the opportunity.
“Working together with the other stakeholders, COBIS can contribute to ensuring that Copenhagen Science City takes the next step and goes from being a successful collaboration between local players to a key player on the global scene. A place that attracts researchers, students, entrepreneurs and venture capital from around the world. In addition to Morten Møgaard Jensen and Thomas Bjørnholm, the Development Council is comprised of representatives from the Danish Building & Property Agency, the Dreyer Foundation, Novo Nordisk, the City of Copenhagen, Metropolitan University College, Rigshospitalet, Symbion and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
